In my first diptych, my subject matter was myself as a hooded figure and as a regular picture. The second diptych is of the architect of the old school compared to the new school, and my third is of broken glass and a broken lightbulb. All of my photos are taken horizontally instead or vertical besides one, which is the hooded picture. The distance for both photos of each diptych is the same except the broken object, where one is close up and the second is farther away. The first diptych is unified by darkness and light contrast of my face, the second by the fact that it is about the school, old and new, and the third is broken objects. I believe my diptychs are unified because they have consistent themes, and represent a similar subject matter. The first diptych represents the good and evil in people, as everyone has a light, or good side, and a dark, or bad side. The second represents the change from the new school transitioning from the old school, and the warmth the new school has as represented by the warm yellow color, and the coldness of the old school shown by the snow. The third diptych means to me that everything gets broken, and sometimes the only way to truly fix something is for it to become completely broken.
