I chose to emulate Steve Jobs with my photo because it is an interesting subject to emulate. I was interested in emulating a celebrity because they would have a widely recognizable appearance. The photographer, Albert Watson, is a Scottish photographer who has photographed for Rolling Stones and Vogue. He has won a Grammy, Lucie, and three ANDY awards. He has crafted an illustrious career of photography, although he was born blind in one eye. The thing that drew me closest to the photo it that the white background contrasts with his shirt and face, giving him a godlike appearance. The photo does not follow the rule of thirds, but is nearly symmetrical down the center. It has one man as the only focal point, and is a simple photo with a lot of meaning behind it. They hand location to me symbolizes his ingenuity and creative thinking, and the white background represents that he will be thought of as godlike due to his contributions to technology. I think the aura around him is ironic because of when he died relative to the release of the book. He died nineteen days before release, and is depicted as a man who will be remembered long after he is gone. The cover has a serious mood to it, and is a common photograph. The picture is successful because millions have seen the book and its cover.
